Chapters 8-10
1) Are you familiar with the term Indigo Child? What are your thoughts
on the idea? Would you want to have a sixth sense, and if so, what would
you want it to be?
2) Let's just say you have an aura, what color do you think your aura would be and why?
3. Sarah is attacked again by a Skinwalker in chapter ten, but this time Evans is with her. While she was being attacked, someone began speaking in a different language, but Evans claims it wasn't him. Do you believe Evans? If not, why do you think he lied? Do you think he's a Skinwalker, or something else?

4) Let's play a quick game of pretend I thought would be fun. You're about to confess to your boyfriend you are a supernatural creature. You can be any creature you want and be in a battle with any other paranormal creature... How would your confession go?

1) I don't remember what year it was, but I do recall hearing talk about Indigo Children at one point. Admittedly, I looked up the term when we first decided on this book for book club, so I've recently be reacquainted with the term.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I hold to the idea exactly because as one doctor pointed out an article I read about this, the definition of what makes an Indigo Child are so open ended, that just about anyone can claim their child is an Indigo. On the other hand, I do admit that there are those individuals who are a lot more attune to those around them. Being one who can easily pick up on other people's emotions, it makes me wonder how much truth to the idea there really could be.
As for a sixth sense...I'm not sure I'd want one. Bad enough as it is I can usually tell when the phone is about to ring. And how's this for a sixth sense - At one point I told two of my friends that they were pregnant. I meant it as a joke, but it turns out they were but so early into it, they didn't know at the time. Needless to say, both of them were a bit freaked out that I knew before they did. I've since learned to keep my mouth shut because I really don't like scaring my friends.
2) Every living thing has an aura, so it's more a question of being able to perceive it. And no one's aura is entirely one single color. It fluctuates based on mood, health, body temp, etc. Anyways, to answer the question, I think my color(s) would be blue with spikes of yellow in it. The yellow would represent the every day stress that I have in life and the blue for those moments where I'm not running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. There probably be some red too, especially during those times when I get emotionally upset. Hmmm...there's so many possibilities.
3. I totally think that Evans lied. Unless by some twist it was Sarah who did the chanting, but didn't realize it. There's definitely a lot more to Evans then we are getting right now and I'm still not entirely sure I trust him. Do I think he's a Skinwalker? It's possible...but then I am starting to wonder if he could possibly be an Indigo himself. However, I'm leaning more towards the possibility that he's a Skinwalker...but maybe a good one. Let the theories commence!
4) I love this question! Ok, here it goes:
*Begin scene*
Me: ~takes on serious tone~ Hun, there's something I have to tell you about myself.
Him: What is it?
Me: I'm a demon slayer. It's my job to go around killing those demon's that manage to wander into the mundane world.
Him: ~stares blankly~
Me: You see, it's a family job. Everyone in my family is a slayer. It's that whole, born into the job sort of thing. Believe me, I tried to find a way out of this gig, but sort of dying, which I don't really want to do, I don't really have much of a choice in this.
Him: ~in a bland tone of voice~ You're a demon slayer?
Me: Yep.
Him: And so are the other members of your family?
Me: Uh huh.
Him: ~falls silent and arches an eyebrow~
Me: ~getting worried~ So, um, yeah...this is one of the reasons why I had to cut our date short last night. I didn't want to go, but you know how it is when works calls, right hun?
Him: ~no response~
Me: Um, are you okay?
Him: I...~coughs~...Will you excuse me a moment. ~steps outside. Sound of laughter can be heard in background~
Me: ~purses lips~ Well, that went well. I think.
*End scene*
bahahaha!!! I was crying laughing so hard I LOVED IT!!!!
Delete1) I have not heard of the term before, but it has peaked my isn't rest so I will be looking more into it.
ReplyDelete2) I am on an emotional roller coaster almost everyday between kis work everyday life and those when I'm reading that it would show you pretty much ever color at some point in any given day.
3) Evan definitely knows more then he is letting on and I think it has something to do with his brother and the scar. Do I think he is evil, I still don't know, he did know she was an Indigo. For the voice, it could have been Evan, but I have this feeling that the skin walker was either the man she saw walking down the road or the man is kind of like her guardian and it was his voice. Just a thought.
4) * we're play wrestling on the floor and he pins me down, he starts to tickle me, and I start o laugh uncontrollable. Then it haapens*
Him: what the.. Was that?
Me: umm.. I don't know, what did you feel?
Him: we'll one minute your laughing, the next I felt like I was punch in the stomach and I couldn't breath.
Me: oh that, well you see I have been meaning to tell you, I have these extra abilities. Like what you felt, I can knock the wind out of your lungs when I feel indangered, self preservation.
Him: like super abilities? Ah huh, so your like a super hero, or an alien? Or just crazy?
Me: neither, but thanks. I am a protector. I don't fight unless provoked and my abilities strengthen depending on what I am fighting. Following?
Him: sure, but I wasn't hurting you and you still * air quotes* hit me.
Me: that was because I wasn't incontroll, but I can do different things, if I am fighting demons, I can shoot an electric...
Him : stop! This is crazy, your crazy! This stuff doesn't happen outside of movies and books.
Me: fine, I'll show how fake it is * reaches out to touch his arm* how's this for crazy..
* an electrical shock his pushed through his body, just a small one, then he his picked up but my invisible hands and placed not so gently outside*
Him: I.. Ah.. Um I..
Me: so I guess we're through, since I'm crazy and all.. * shuts the door*
OMG!!! I love it!!
Delete1) I have never heard of indigo children and if it wasn't for Cameron looking it up I was sure the author made it up! Call me crazy but I think I have a sixth sense. I mean I don't know when it is going to happen so it isn't useful. So here we go once I was on my way to the kitchen and a split second before I got there I saw myself break my glass in the sink.. then I did. The question is did I see it because I was going to break it or did I break it because I saw it? That kind of stuff happens to me all the time. Like split second see it and it happens.
ReplyDelete2)I think my aura would be purple. :) haha Its my favorite color and I am pretty girly,
3)I don't believe him that lying boy. BUT I don't trust him yet. Every time I start to think I may trust him he messes it up. We currently have a love hate relationship. haha
4)
Him: Babe I really haven't been feeling well lately.
Me: Oh ya? Well what is it?
Him: I'm not sure. I mean I am tired all the time, and I feel like my life is slowly draining out of me.
Me: uh oh.
Him: What is uh oh?
Me: Well see I think we need to talk about something.
Him: What?
Me: I'm...Well I'm kind of a succubus, but hey I still love you.
Him: Wait what?
Me: Succubus. You know drains your soul through sex. I think it may be whats wrong with you.
Him: *silent for a few intense moments*
Does this mean we can't have sex anymore?
haha man answer!!
~dies laughing~ Oh my D, that scene is awesome! And it's so like a man to ask that question. LOL
DeleteNo sex, I bet he will let you drain him dry
ReplyDeletehaha
Delete1) I had not heard of the term Indigo Children until now, but after googling it and all the supernatural shows/movies I watch, I wonder why more people aren't using the term! I don't think I have a sixth sense :( but it would be super cool if I did.
ReplyDelete2) On a typical day, I would think my aura would be a pink color, just because I'm always happy and bubbly, but still having the first trimester symptoms, my aura would be brown because I'm so miserable, LOL
3) I don't think Evan lied, I think he doesn't realize that he even did it. I feel like whatever he is hiding has something to do with protecting Sarah, and he didn't even realize he was speaking another language...kind of like Harry Potter talking to snakes.
4)
Him: So we've been together for quite some time now, and I feel like we should move on to the next step.
Me: What next step did you have in mind?
Him: Well you know, something long-term, like an engagement (as he pulls out a ring)
Me: Oh wow! I'm so happy and before I give you an answer, there is something I need to tell you. Just want to make sure you can deal with this and still want to move forward together.
Him: Ok, now I'm nervous...
Me: Oh, its not really a big deal, but you know how you keep asking me what products I use to keep myself looking so young, well its because I'm a shapeshifter. I can change my appearance to look anyway I want.
Him: Seriously? Like free plastic surgery?
Me: Yeah! So if you still want to marry me, the answer is Yes!
Him: Of course I want to marry you still! (him thinking "this could really come in handy one day") :)
1) This was completely new to me. I wasn't sure if it was something already known or not until I looked it up. I liked how it was unfolded in the book. As for a sixth sense, I think if people are willing to listen to 'their gut' it can do a lot of good things.
ReplyDelete2) I'd say red! I love red so much that if someone came up to me and told me my aura was any other color, I'd be crushed!
3.I don't believe him at all. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I like his character because I want to believe that there's something good about him.
4) I got stuck on what I wanted to be and still can't decide, which has screwed up the whole conversation! lol
