This is a "meme" started by me, and one I really love. Cover Wars takes two covers and puts them against each other. I am a huge fan of book covers, and sometimes I buy books strictly because the cover sucked me in. This week's Cover Wars is another who did it best!!!
In an age of heroes, Branda, a Saxon princess helps Blaise, a Prince of Powys, escape her father’s stronghold. In turn, he vows to escort the princess to her sister in Scotland so she can escape an arranged marriage. Instead, he holds her captive as his hostage in the unbreachable hill fort of Dinas Bran, where she captures his heart. Will Blaise be forced to throw away his honor for love or to tear out his heart for honor?

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....
Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.
Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.
Last Weeks Winner

Jeez, that's a hard decision. I have to say Lover At Last. I like that you can see his face. ;)

I think it comes down to the face. Not sure which one, ugh.
ReplyDeleteI prefer NOT seeing the face. It adds more mystery and menace to the cover.
ReplyDeleteI probably won't read the first one and will most def read the JR Ward BUT I like the first cover better!
ReplyDeleteWow--these two are really similar. That said, I like the one where I can't see the face.
ReplyDeleteI like the 1st one because I prefer when faces aren't showing on covers. And I like the font better.
ReplyDeleteThe Prince of Powys.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think that it would be not allowed to have a cover that looks similar to one of JR Ward's. I mean...it's Ward! lol I like both honestly but am leaning towards Lover at Last. But that's probably because I am looking forward to that book. A lot. :)
ReplyDeleteLover at Last.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for voting, per one of the comments I just wanted to share, so there is no confusion or blame wrongly placed, Prince of Powys was released January 6, 2012 and Lover At Last is due for release March 2013. It has not been released yet. Prince of Powys has been out for over a year and it was out well before the cover for J.R. Ward's book was chosen.
