For almost two years now, Kiera's boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she's ever wanted: loving, tender and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together, Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university, everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.
Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source—a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he's purely a friend that she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes...and none of them will ever be the same.
Kiera has packed up her entire life and moved across the country to live with her boyfriend Denny. Life is perfect for this couple and they are enjoying life finally living together. Until something happens that takes Denny away from Keira. Alone in a strange city and slightly bitter at her boyfriends choices Keira's heart starts falling into the hands of another man.
Holy freaking crap batman. This book is an emotional roller coaster. This is possibly the first love triangle that I couldn't pick who I wanted the heroine to end up with. Denny is this romantic aussie (I am a sucker for accents) who would never do Kiera wrong. Kellan is a hot rocker who, well let's face it ladies he is the bad boy we all want to change.
This book started off a little slow and a lot to perfect so I wasn't sure I was going to get into. Once the story did kickoff and the plot started to unfold I couldn't put this book down. I had to know what was going to happen. I had to find out who Kiera would choose. I was on edge conflicted with her choices and yet caught up in the thrill of will she get caught. I hated the heroine and I loved her at the same time. I despised what she was doing yet I couldn't help but encourage it. This book turned me into a bipolar reader.
Oh and then ending!!! AHH!! The things I wish I could tell but I won't of course. Now here is the thing this book is wrong in so many ways yet I enjoyed it. I think it is an enjoyable read and an emotional read but I think only some readers can enjoy it. This isn't your typical romance of boy meets girl they fall in love. I think readers who aren't going to judge the actions of the characters and read it for what it is, a simple story will enjoy this book.
So give it a try and strap yourself in for the emotional roller coaster you will embark on.

Awesome review..i am working my way towards this one, I have been reading new adult on my smartphone and featuring them in my Coffee Pot Reviews. In March during the Take Control event I plan to read a ton of them that are sitting pretty in my tbr pile!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED this book, and totally agree w/you, this book may not be for everyone, but it was a great read. SC Stephens knows how to pull you in. Read the second book, you will love it as much, if not more than this one! Great review!
ReplyDeleteI can't do the triangle but I think I have a friend that would adore this book. She totally digs this New Adult trend. I am going to have to tell her about this book!
