Author Interview PLUS G!veaway: Kamy Chetty

Meet Kamy Chetty:

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for having me over here on this awesome blog. You guys have so much fun here, I'm hoping not to overstay my welcome. I will be giving a copy of my debut release to some lucky person and I had so much fun writing it that I really hope you have fun reading it. I hope you don't mind if I hang around for a bit and catch up with you all.

Kamy is the author of Falling Into Paradise:

A woman too afraid to commit. A man too hurt to love again. A passion that refuses to be denied. Sophie Redmond knew betrayal, she knew mistrust. She knew everything that was wrong with the world, until Damon Watson charmed his way into her life. The rules she used to shield her heart were broken one by one, as Damon showed her compassion and kindness. When no one else believes in her, he shows her hope. But is hope ever enough?

Damon knew trouble when he saw it. He was the sheriff. He could spot it a mile away and Sophie was trouble with a capital T. What was it about this City Slicker doctor that made him want to forget everything but those whiskey brown eyes and that honey blonde hair spilled against his naked chest. Can Damon put the past behind him and choose to love again? Reader Alert!: Sophie thought sex was a game that could be controlled with rules, but add a playboy who knew every trick in the book, and she couldn't help but throw her rule book away. Caution! Sophie and Damon tend to sizzle on the page as much as they do in bed, so take care to stock up on the ice!

Interview

1)      Tell readers a little about yourself, and about Falling into Paradise?

I am a hopeless romantic who truly believes in love. If I’m not writing then I’m playing out scenes and stories in my head and my husband often asks me what I’m smiling about because I have the tendency to go off into my character world. Often.

I wrote Falling into Paradise because I was hooked on Ian Somerhalder and I needed to get Damon out of my system. Hey don’t judge, do you know a better way to work off that kind of energy? So now you know why the book is so steamy:-)

2)      what is something you have to have with you, or have to do to keep your creative juices flowing?

I wrote this book in three weeks, off course it took me longer to edit it but what kept me on track was having a routine. It was almost ritualistic. I’d light my candles, put on my salt lamp and turn on my special soundtrack and that just got me in the mood to write the book. Sometimes I needed to take a break and all I needed was an episode of Vampire Diaries and I was back on track. There is just something about that man that drives me wild but if you read the book, you’ll get that.

3)      Where did you get your inspiration for this book?

This book shocked me. I started it as one of my usual medicals and as I wrote it suddenly turned into a suspense/thriller and I started having so much of fun that I couldn’t stop. Us nurses have a dry sense of humour, it’s the only way we can deal with the pain of death and all the bad stuff. So I went with the flow and ended up getting published. That mean streak paid off. All those times I put on that smile when I was dying to scream blue murder, it seems I found an outlet. A damn good one at that. I can kill people in my books. So now everyone knows to be nice, or they’ll end up dead, as a character in my book LOL.

The truth is I actually don’t base my characters on real people, that would make life awkward and that would stop me from doing very important research. How else would a grown woman explain having pictures of gorgeous men plastered on her office wall?(shrugs innocently)

  2. I know a lot of nurses and you are so right---the dry sense of humor is a must! This sounds like a wonderful read and no judging on the Damon part. We have all had to deal with those fantasies LOL

  3. Thanks for stopping by Autumn and Felicia, a friend of mine read my interview and told me that she sees a pattern and I have a thing for bad boys- she's not wrong. She read the book and even though she is a Stefan fan, she still loved it. I worked in ED and special care baby unit, so having a dry sense of humor was a must when sometimes things didn't go right. I just got a four star review from Romance Times Magazine and it was listed under Erotica- made me realize that all this time I have been saying this is a raunchy read- well time to come to grips with the facts- this is an erotically charged read.
So I hope you guys enjoy- it is an emotional story.

  5. I enjoyed the interview. Every woman should be able to have pictures of good looking men on their office walls. Of course, I couldn't get away with it working in an accounting department.

    1. Hi Andrea, thanks for dropping by. I got away with the hanging things on my wall as a nurse manager by getting a Fireman's Calender- it's for a good cause and I am supporting and donating money for this cause plus I need to know which day of the week it is- two birds- one stone and all that- it worked for a while but I won't encourage it. There were moments I might have went off on a tangent LOL

    1. Thanks for giving us new authors a chance to get around. It's a tough world out there so it's always a pleasure to get to know readers and what they like, and are you kidding- I love freebies:-)

    1. Hi Mary- can I take you on tour with me LOL. This publicity thing is new in the publishing world- I'm good at talking because I work with patients and I can usually make them laugh. Ever tried to do a smear on a woman who was terrified- tell her the story of a Dr who asked the patient to hold the speculum, while he answers the phone- always gets them cracking up and the next thing you know it's done. I think some of that humor comes out in the book- my editor calls it witty dialogue so thanks:-)

  10. Both of these characters sound like they need a HEA after their pasts. I like that it sounds so emotional.

    1. It totally is. I was a little worried I was being mean to them because they took so long to have their HEA and so many things happened- but you know us writers- we have to push and push. But Sophie is really strong and I admire her. She is the reversal of fortune girl, that she turned around by hard work but that darn rule book of hers, she thinks it will protect her, but off course we know better. Life doesn't work like that.
